Every project starts with a call, a vision, an idea, a will to explore. A path is open. The time has come for the unexpected to happen and for intelligence to flourish. Making links between individuals and organizations working on a similar idea and complimentary skills. Connecting the dots creates a virtuous circle, enabling project growth.
What if we launched an initiative to help other projects achieve their goals? Here begins the story of Open Team. Let me introduce SOA. He created his first company at age 18, then a second one during his studies at university. He has always loved to build and repair things. He's a maker in his heart and an adept of the trial and error philosophy.
A growing quest for meaning has led him to search for ways to make things evolve concretely. When I was a child, I really like to play all the time. And uh today it's the same. When I do projects, it feels like playing. So it would be great if we could find some people who could be part of it. And John Yu calls me and asks me to go to Lima, but I have no idea why.
But I hop on a plane and then I meet entrepreneurs from all around the world who gather there. And we can see that political negotiation don't work. But if all those entrepreneurs could work together, we would have a huge power. Back to Paris, I met Dasma and we organized our first meeting dedicated to creating links between projects.
It was a huge success. 130 people came and 60 communities were represented, proving the need to better connect together. That's how Open Team was born. Let's talk about Basma. She grew up in Tunisia, always confronted with cultural paradoxes. At 18, she arrived in Paris to study at college. She quickly developed a passion for two unlikely subjects, finance and social endeavors.
She's been working both as a financial auditor and a volunteer with nonprofit organizations. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Enter Joanne. She grew up in a comforting multicultural environment. She started a corporate career as a project manager in the airline business. Very often traveling to developing countries, she drove her life from challenge to challenge.
Always very passionate about what she undertook. I was preparing for my next big challenge, my MBA at Insad and I realized very soon that I wanted to dedicate myself to social impact even though I didn't know how yet. Well, I discovered all the social entrepreneurs that were out there and then when I noticed all of the support, coaching, contacts, tools that we get in INSEAD as entrepreneurs, I really wanted to share it with all of them.
One year later and after a project that I had to abort, I bumped into Suka. He told me about his vision and the mission for open team and it matched exactly what I wanted to do. So I started working with him and this time without any safety net. Now let's talk about ail. She was born in a round house. Wow. Right on the path for eco transition.
Both her parents were makers and designers making her childhood a time for experimenting and innovating. She naturally decided to become an architect. connecting various fields in her endeavors, launching innovative projects, and writing a book along the way. Let's welcome Carol. She's the third child in a traditional upper class family.
She followed in her sister's footsteps, graduating from a top business school. She then brilliantly pursued a marketing career in various renowned corporations. But after working many years in that high-profile role and achieving numerous milestones along the way, something was missing. Since its creation in January 2015, Open Team represents today more than 40 projects connected organically thanks to our regional coordinators spread around 35 countries.
We will help you connect with talents around the world, amplify your societal project to reach greater impact, and share knowledge, failures, and best practices. Our pilot project in the Jordan desert brings together 200 experts around the world to build reforestation solutions. We are now developing a digital platform and large events that connect change makers both online and in person, and on the longer run, a dedicated endowment fund to finance high impact collaboration projects.
What if you boosted your change process today? Join open team to support a great number of projects and connect to the next level.
